Tecnatom is continuing to consolidate its control rooms activities in the ambitious Chinese nuclear program. In this case, we have completed an equipment supply contract for a control room and a full scope simulator in the Tianwan nuclear plant, specifically for reactors 5 and 6.
The plant has two Chinese designed ACPR-1000 reactors, construction began in December 2015 and it is located in the Jiangsu province. Both units are expected to begin commercial operations in 2020 and 2021, respectively. It is the first joint nuclear project of the two main Chinese electrical companies China General Nuclear (CGN) and China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC).
Tecnatom has a lot of experience in the development of these types of projects which are executed in accordance with the solutions developed in-house. They ensure the safe and efficient operation of the nuclear plants.
Tecnatom guarantees its compliance with all international regulations and we provide support to every phase of the project, from the design to the commissioning and operation. We also provide support during the warranty period by providing replacement parts and assessing and repairing the original equipment.
This project now means there are 19 control rooms and simulators in China provided by Tecnatom in addition to other international projects. These include the full scope simulators provided to Atucha II (Argentina) and Angra I (Brazil) and the emergency control room panels in Krsko (Slovenia).
